Effects of Fishing on Children

Fishing can be fun for the entire family. How about bringing the kids? Charter fishing can be a way to educate your children about fish species and their oceanic habitat. Charter Fishing is a great way to teach kids the importance of protecting the oceanic ecosystem.

What a great way to bond with your son or daughter, and bring along your parents too, for each generation to share in the lasting memory. A fishing trip with kids can help teach them about the different bait, tackle, line, techniques, and water safety.

Always remember that the children have to wear life vests on board at all times. And the Fairwater II crew members will be close by to help reel in the children’s fish, and give the children hands on fishing experience.

Another thing to be prepared for when bringing the children is sea sickness. Children tend to become sea sick more often than adults because of the inner ear development. Two remedies you may want to buy before coming on board are Sea-Band and Ginger root, both are helpful to recovering and easing the symptoms of sea sickness.

All in all fishing is a way to make lifelong happy memories with your children. Below is a poem written by my cousin about my deceased uncle who took time with him fishing:

Dedicated to Uncle Merill Ard

My Papa Ard and I went fishing a long time ago.
The day young and the sun low as we rode in my Papa’s car, boat in tow, heading for the blue-green lagoon.
We took the boat to the middle of the lagoon.
We cast our lines.
We sat, watched, and waited.
You told me about getting ready for a war you never got to fight in.
Told me about selling crops and seeing the sites during the depression.
As the day drew on the wind stopped blowing. It began to get lazily hot. I looked to the bobber as it plunged in. You helped me reel in the fish, talking me through what I had to do.
Though I know one day we will both leave.
I’m sure I’ll see you soon. Maybe we’ll get to fish, where the fish bite even at noon.
